No Ireland tour would be complete without at least one picture of sheep - right :O) Well, there you go... This was still our Ring of Kerry tour - we were heading home (Killorglin that night) and the sun was almost setting...beautiful scenery on the way to Killorglin via Killarney. View over Killarney Lakes... |

<== This is Inch Beach. That day we went horse back riding on Dingle Island. It was brilliant - four hours on horse back, the highlite: galopping over a beach similar to this one - scary but exhilarating. After that day we could not walk, sit or stand without our whole body hurting. We looked totally ridiculous and made total idiots of ourselves whenever we tried getting up or sitting down - not to mention going up and down steps :O) |

This was Glendalough - another great spot to be in. By that time we had seen quite a lot of castles, cathedrales, abbeys and graveyards, but this one was very interesting to see. It was nice to walk around all these historic places and to be able to explore them. I especially liked the graveyards and reading the tombstones. The are so full of history and each one tells a story of a family that has lived there... |

No trip to Ireland would be complete without having a look at the Guinness brewery in Dublin. We did not need a map to find it...you could smell it miles away. To bad we both do not like to drink Guiness though... :O) After 10 days in Ireland we found our own favourit to be Smithwicks. We weren't to lucky with the pubs we had found during our tour - mainly because we usually ended up in tourist swamped places almost every night where everyone was around 70 or older but in the smaller towns we met some very nice locals (older folks as well) and had some lovely chats. I guess it is hard to find young people in Ireland except in the bigger cities. Ireland was great nonetheless and this is just a good reason to come back again.... | |
