May 2004 - my friend Conny and I went on a 10 day trip through the south of Ireland. It was fantastic, Ireland is just wonderful. Here are a few pics I took during our trip.
We arrived in Dublin, rented a car and began our trip - Dublin - Kilkenny - Cork - Killarney - Killorglin - Dublin.
It was a great trip...we covered about 850 km in 10 days. Does not sound that much maybe, but when it's your holiday it's quite a lot.
Usually we would have a wonderful (and quite filling) Irish breakfast, than packed our things and then moved to a new town. Was a bit of a gypsy life style and it was fun. B&B were mostly excellent and it was no problem finding accomodations every afternoon. Driving on the left was a bit scary, especially after I knocked off our mirror, luckily that was the only accident we had and after 5 days I really enjoyed it. Biggest problem wasn't so much staying on the left but that the car was the wrong way round. Everytime I got into a tight situation I feared I'd open the doors instead of changing gear :)
This was our first stop after Dublin - Kilkenny

We found ourselves a nice pub - very touristy place but what do you expect when you go by travel guides. It was nice anyway and the Kilkenny was lovely.
Below are some pics of my fave spots in Ireland - Killarney and its lakes. It was great - green and fresh air. Muckross House & Abbey were great for wandering around and exploring.
Torc Fall - Lovely place - a place for leprechauns and fairies :O)
Ring of Kerry Tour and Finan's Bay

I'll tell you this water was freazing, but this was the first day I really relaxed - sun was shining, a nice refreshing wind from the sea...just a dream!!!

The tour will continue on the next page....
