Well, realizing after about 6 years that a one-room apartment is just not big enough for me and 4 lovebirds I have given the birds and myself a rest. The birds moved out to a relatives aviary.

I could not very well be without a little friend though so I decided a hamster might make the perfect pet. So far I have not been wrong. Tessie moved in in July 2005. She was already 5 months at that time but turned out to be very tame (God knows I did not do much to get that result) and I am still very surprised by that. She loves everything that can be eaten and has kind of learned how to beg for stuff...needless to say I rarely can resist. She is a lovely little thing.

BTW, I named her Tessie as it is an abriviation of Theresa...which means "to harvest" ... I thought that quite fitting. For anyone who is interested she is a Dsungarian dwarf hamster.
